Wheel me in, coach!
Lifelong friend Steve Ebner (left) had the experience needed to handle a wheelchair in a crowd. More than 30 years earlier, he traveled to Notre Dame for graduation weekend so he could wheel my mom around campus. She was battling cancer at the time.
William Howard Taft was the first U.S. President to throw out the baseball season’s ceremonial first pitch back in 1910. On Opening Day 2014, he knew right away I was an Opening Day kind of guy and insisted on this photo op!
